The Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority has issued Decision No. 26 of 2025, published in the Official Gazette on June 17, 2025, regarding the new examination fees for patent applications. The changes are summarized below:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
1- According to Article (1): Examination Fee for patent applications in accordance with the applicable Intellectual Property Protection Law is set at EGP 50,000.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
2- According to Article (2): Expert fees appointed by the Patent Office to review patent applications submitted in accordance with the provisions of the referenced Intellectual Property Protection Law and requiring expert consultation shall be determined by a decision from the Head of the Authority, with a minimum fee of EGP 1,000 per application.<\/p>\n

Please Note that this item was previously free of charge, but it is now subject to additional fees.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
3- According to Article (3): All examination fees and expert charges must be settled within three (3) months from the date of notification.\u00a0 Failure to do so will result in the application being suspended until the required fees are paid, including any additional charges related to the extension of deadlines, as per the applicable regulations and decisions issued in this regard.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
4- According to Article (4): The Examination fees and Expert remuneration shall be deposited into the account of the Financial Unit of the Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
5- According to Article (5): The decision shall be published in the Egyptian Official Gazette, and will take effect the day after its publication, and any previous provisions that conflict with it are hereby repealed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
