OAPI 2022 New Trademark Laws and Official Fee Schedule

Effective January 1st, 2022, a new Trademark Official Fees Schedule has come into force in the OAPI jurisdictions: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Comoro Islands, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

The same will be reflected in our schedule of fees going forward, our professional fees remain unchanged. Importantly, trademark applications no longer cover 1-3 classes; official fees are payable for the 2nd class and each additional class. Further, there is no fee for color publication and goods and services can now be included in a single application.
